Our Hearts are Filled with Thanks
The students, staff, and administration of Gladewater Middle School would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude. We want to thank the community, school board, architects, builders, and media installation crews for our new facilities at 414 S. Loop 485. It took crews working around the clock to prepare the site and make it welcoming to our approximately 400 Middle School students this year. It has been a long journey from the 60 percent approval rating passing the $35 Million Bond on May 10 in 2014 to our opening on Parents Night, August 18, 2016.
Gladewater has a long-standing tradition of pride in our educational and extracurricular services. Many of our present day Middle School Staff are former students themselves. It says a lot about a community when the products of its educational services desire to return and pay forward the love and support they received. Thank you, Gladewater Community Members for investing in our children’s futures and supporting our goal as a campus to prepare our students for every opportunity life can afford them.
The new campus is beautifully designed. The well thought out floor plan gives our campus room to grow. The technology is top of the line with state-of-the-art facilities, student devices, and security. We even have our own on campus Resource Officer from Gladewater Police Department ensuring the safety of our students and campus.
Our new campus wasn’t the only upgrade GMS received. Gladewater Middle School is home for 6th , 7th, and 8th-grade students known as the BEARS.
The school’s curriculum centers on mathematics, science, reading, social studies, fine arts, and technology. Student organizations include Student Council and National Junior Honor Society. GMS has been recognized on two occasions by the Texas Education Agency for outstanding student academic accomplishment, resulting in a ‘Recognized’ accountability rating for the school. GMS has also received Gold Performance Acknowledgments from TEA in Reading, Mathematics, and Social Studies. The school administration, teachers, and staff members look forward to continuing this tradition of academic recognition.
